Your Cast Iron Dutch Oven will need periodic maintenance to keep looking new.
Here's the process for the first wash and prep and whenever it looks like your Cast Iron Dutch Oven needs it:
Wash: Use dish soap and rinse well.
Dry: Thoroughly dry with a tea towel. No drip drying.
Warm: Place on low heat until completely dry. 160°C in the oven for 10mins will do the trick.
Oil: Apply a neutral oil with a dry cloth and place in the oven at 200°C for half an hour, then let cool.
Done: After cooling in the oven it's ready to be stored away, patiently waiting for it's next use.

I got one of the starter kits. The Dutch oven and everything were brilliant. The dried starter not so much. I had lots of trouble getting it going. I ended up just making my own starter from scratch.
